Next year on my way to holiday I'm flying with Alitalia to Sofia in Bulgaria, it includes a stop in Rome both ways. For medium-haul flights Alitalia use the A319/20/21 (exactly the aircraft I hope to recreate). Do you have any tips of how to get in to the cockpit? Some people mentioned taking pictures of your cockpit/pieces and emailing in advance?
Many thanks,
Sam

I went flying across Australia on a new NG737 a few years back and requested a cockpit visit in writing which quoted my CASA Pilot's licence number. I handed the note to the purser to give to the captain when I boarded. Halfway through the flight the purser came and found me and told me that absolutely no non-crew is allowed in the cockpit of any Australian flight but I was invited in after parking and got to chat with the crew and take some good pictures!
Cheers Gwyn

You shouldn't have too much trouble getting on the flight deck on the ground. Even just asking just as you're about to leave at the front exit is enough. Don't bother them before take off tho. After landing is 100% your best chance. By all means ask a flight attendant during the flight, just be sure you say you want to visit AFTER you've landed.

If you get in on the outbound trip, be sure to ask what the airlines policy is on visitors during the flight. It may be that you have the chance of a take off or landing on the return trip. Not many airlines allow this these days though.
